Obituary for Alice P. Chandler
Alice P Chandler, 69, of Pollock, LA, completed her journey, on December 16, 2023, at 5:55am, with her girls by her side.
Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 pm with a memorial service at 6:00 pm. Everything will be held at the Pentecostals of Alexandria (GAMC), 2817 Rapides Ave. in Alexandria, La 71303.
Alice Marie Price Chandler was born at 12:16 am on January 1st, making her the first baby born in Alexandria/Pineville, LA in 1954. Alice graduated from Louisiana College with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and worked in several fields from Nursery to Mental Health. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spoiling her grandbabies. Alice was a faithful friend, fierce protector, and generous soul. If you were fortunate to be loved by her, and there were a lot, there is nothing she wouldn’t give or do for you. She was often referred to as the “fun aunt” or the “fun mom” and was not above cutting up or being the getaway driver of some heathen kids who just rolled their band teacher’s house. She had a great laugh that you couldn’t help but join if you heard it. And even though she loved her “girls” with a love like no other, she would move Heaven and Earth for her son in laws and grandbabies. Alice had a special bond with her sister. With a 13-year age difference, she looked to Dorothy as a second mother.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Ozias Price, Sr. and Alice Price Paul; stepfather, Dewey Paul, Sr.; her brother, Roger Price; her former husband and daughter’s father, Adrion Burnaman; and son in law, Bobby Hawkins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Michelle Burnaman of Jena, Stacey McCully of Pollock and her husband, Craig, and Adrianne Grimsal of Boyce and her husband, TJ; two brothers, Julian Price of Houston and his wife, Monika and Ozias Price, Jr. of Pineville and his wife, Carolyn; her sister, Dorothy Woodson of Deville and her husband, Leon; seven grandchildren, Ashton Burnaman, Cassie McCully, AJ McCully, Marlie Grimsal, Parker Grimsal, Luke Hawkins, and Lilli Perry; her Burnaman brother and sister in laws and mother in law; 21 nieces and nephews; her former husband, Donald Chandler; and her faithful four legged companion, her “baby”, Lucy.
