Life Story for Gerald Walker Sr.

Mr. Alson Gerald Walker, Sr., age 85, better known as Gerald, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 20, 2018, in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services for Mr. Walker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gerald was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He worked for the former South Central Bell, now AT&T, for 31 years as a cable repairman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and was awarded Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, woodworking, drawing, and was the life of the party. Gerald will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alson Jefferson Walker and Mary Edith Walker.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lula Faraldo Walker; sons, Jerry Walker of Alexandria and Joel Walker (Emily) of Alexandria; daughter, Donna Brister (Kevin) of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker, Zachary Walker, Chance Brister, and Jeremy Brister; and sister, Mary E. Walker of Pineville.
