Life Story for James Potts

Funeral services for Mr. James Irvin Potts will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana, with Pastor Darryl Hoychick officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Potts, age 76, of Ball, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence in Ball, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Potts was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and watching football. Mr. Potts proudly served his country in the Air Force Reserves, for eight years. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech and his Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Mr. Potts worked for NASA as a Computer Programmer, Exxon Production Research, and Morton Thiokol.

Mr. Potts is preceded in death by his parents, James Willis and Marie Johns Potts.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Potts; son James Potts of Austin, Texas; daughter, Cathy Wheeler (Ernie) of Pinnacle, North Carolina; brothers, Dennis Potts (Claudia) of Spring, Texas and Randy Potts of Shreveport, Louisiana; sister, Sharon Carrol of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandsons, Trenton and Gabriel Wheeler of Pinnacle, North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, James Potts, Ruben Granado, Edwin Turnage, Jeremy Nunnally, Jeremy McCrea, and Tim Frazier; honorary pallbearers, Trenton Wheeler, Gabriel Wheeler, Jude Peek, and Terry Gremillion.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any and all donations be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
