Life Story for Richard Monk

Memorial services for Mr. Richard Wayne Monk will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana, with Pastor Darryl Hoychick officiating. Arrangements for Mr. Monk’s service have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Monk, age 59, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Hilltop Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pineville, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Monk was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed bass fishing. Mr. Monk was a jack of all trades and a hard worker. He worked many different types of jobs including air conditioning, mill rite, and also at Union Tank Car. Mr. Monk was also an ex drag racer and a drag racing fan. He especially loved his 1973 Dodge Challenger, often jokingly referred to as his “true love”. This is just an example of the type of dry humor that Mr. Monk possessed. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Monk of Pineville; son, Justin Monk (Taeler) of Pineville; grandchildren, Paislee, Raegan, and Jaxson Monk of Pineville; parents, Ruby and Joe Lazrone of Colfax; brothers, Donnie Monk (Sharon) of Texas and Jimmy Lazrone of Pineville; and sister Charlotte Austin (James) of Lake Charles.

Friends may visit on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
