Memorial services for Mr. William R. Mask will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service.

William “Bill” Mask, age 69, of Pollock, Louisiana passed away at 7:15 p.m. on April 12, 2016 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital from complications related to influenza and pneumonia. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served thirteen years, three months and three days before receiving an honorable discharge due to an injury. Many of his friends call him Alabama Bill, because of his avid love of the Crimson Tide.

Born at home in Memphis, Tennessee on May 6, 1946, Bill was preceded in death by his parents Mary Wilma Kilpatrick and William Elvis Mask; sisters, Violet Wayne Spicer, Bessie Alene Jaggers, and Charlene Pelton; grandparents, Iverson and Bessie (BK) Kilpatrick; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

When Bill moved to Louisiana with Sandy, he became very active in the local Alcoholics Anonymous groups. It was so heartwarming to have his brothers and sisters stop by to share their stories. Bill’s children learned so much about how their Daddy had helped so many through the program.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra Mott Mask; son, William Ray Mask II and wife Edna; daughter, Lisa Mask; grandchildren, Tyler, Rayann, Kristopher, Anthony, Kyle, Alec and Daniell; great grandchildren, Jordan, Aaliyah, Makalayah, Alexa and Mirabella; two sisters, Marlene Rich and Patricia McCurdy. He is also survived by his Mott family, Murvin and Don Elda, Jimmy and Caroline, Gary, James, Doris, Kylee and Jameson, Jeremy, Melissa, Caroline and Jace, Jacob and Kate. He always laughingly asked to change his name to Mott, but his brothers-in-law wouldn’t let him. Bill loved his fur babies and missed the ones who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He leaves Sarah Bella, Darcy, Happy Cat, Squeaker and Peeper to miss his treats and playtime.
