Alvin R. Carter, Sr. “Pop” Mr. Alvin R. Carter, Sr. “Pop”, age 72, went home to be with his Lord on January 17, 2015 at his residence in Deville, LA. His journey is made and he is at peace. “Pop” was loved by all who knew him. He was retired from Pinkerton Tobacco where he worked for many years. He loved to cook and have everyone together. He was an avid fisherman whose idea of a great day was being in his boat on the water catching fish. Pop loved to make everyone laugh with his jokes and songs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Billie Hudnall Carter. His parents , Ellis “Buster” and Pauline Carter. Brothers Ralph Carter, Walter Carter, and Leo Carter and one sister, Lily Marie Carter. He is survived by 3 sons : William Heath Carter, Sr and fiancé Christine, Alvin R. Carter, Jr. and wife Tammy, and John Michael Bonds and wife Ramona. Brother James Carter and sister Mary Tyler, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held January 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the home of William Heath Carter, Sr. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Central Louisiana Home Heath and Hospice.
